2020/8/2· On the ESPDUINO-32 board, GPIO 12 is connected to the D8 position which on the keypad shield is conned the hd44780 RS signal. The ESP32 has a weak pulldown on GPIO 12 but it isn''t strong enough to over come the internal pullup on the LCD RS signal.
